Justice AS Chandurkar of the Bombay High Court will hear the petitions  challenging the amendment to the IT Rules, which allows the government to identify “fake news” about itself on social media, Livelaw reported. The hearing will begin on February 28.  This comes over 15 days after the Bombay High Court delivered a split verdict in the petitions challenging the amendment were filed by stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra, the Editors Guild of India, and the Association of Indian Magazines.  On January 31, Justice Gautam Patel of the division bench had upheld the petitioners’ contentions, while Justice Neela Gokhale had supported the government’s argument.  During the hearing today, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta reassured the court that the government “will not notify the fact-check unit” under the IT Rules amendment “till the interim application is decided”. NewsClick has withdrawn its petition challenging two income tax assessment notices against it in the Supreme Court in order to move the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal for relief, Bar and Bench reported. A bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and Augustine George Masih allowed NewsClick to withdraw the plea and said that the ITAT is to proceed hearing the matter, including applications for early hearing and interim relief in accordance with law. The organisation had approached the court against tax assessment orders dated November 3, 2023 and February 20, 2023. In November, the Delhi High Court had rejected its plea , observing that NewsClick prima facie did not have a case in its favour. The organisation had then approached the Supreme Court, which had last month sought the response of the Commissioner of the Central Income Tax Circle. किसान आंदोलन खत्म होने की घोषणा के बीच 9 दिसंबर 2021 को कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्रालय के तत्कालीन सचिव संजय अग्रवाल ने एक पत्र संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा को लिखा. जिसमें आंदोलन वापस लेने से जुड़ी शर्तों पर सहमति का जिक्र था.  इस पत्र के दूसरे पॉइन्ट में लिखा है कि किसान आंदोलन के दौरान भारत सरकार के संबंधित विभाग और एजेंसियों तथा दिल्ली सहित सभी संघ शासित राज्यों में आंदोलनकारियों एवं समर्थकों पर लगाए गए आंदोलन संबंधित सभी केस भी तत्काल प्रभाव से वापस लेने की सहमति बनी है. ये सभी केस वापस लिए जाएंगे. दो साल बाद 22 नवंबर 2023 को हरियाणा के रोहतक जिले के रहने वाले भारतीय किसान यूनियन के नेता वीरेंद्र सिंह को दिल्ली पुलिस का एक नोटिस मिला. यह नोटिस सिविल लाइन्स थाने की तरफ से जारी किया गया था.  यह नोटिस 26 नवंबर 2020 (जिस रोज किसान आंदोलन करने के लिए दिल्ली आए थे) को सिविल लाइन्स थाने में दर्ज एफआईआर संख्या 522/2020 को लेकर जारी हुआ था. इस नोटिस में कहा गया कि आपको पूछताछ के लिए 24 नवंबर 2023 को सिविल लाइन्स थाने आना पड़ेगा. कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्रालय के तत्कालीन सचिव संजय अग्रवाल द्वार

The February 8 elections in Pakistan have resulted in outcomes atypical of best laid plans.
