Haryana AAP worker booked for threatening journalist
The Kurukshetra police have registered a case of criminal intimidation after a journalist alleged that an Aam Aadmi Party worker had threatened him purportedly for showing empty chairs at a rally addressed by Arvind Kejriwal, the Times of India reported.
Vikram Singh, who is associated with a local weekly newspaper, alleged that one Sahib Singh from Katlaheri village had called him, identifying himself as an AAP worker, and demanded to know why he had shown empty chairs at the rally. “I have a threat to my life and property as after gathering information about this person, I came to know that he has a weapon,” Vikram further alleged.
Speaking to TOI, AAP Haryana spokesperson Sumit Hindustani confirmed that Sahib worked with former Haryana minister Nirmal Singh who has recently joined AAP. “We stand with the media and in the nine years of history of AAP, no such incident took place and we are also surprised how this has happened. We are also investigating this matter and action should be taken against him if he did wrong,” he added.
