During their ongoing negotiations with the union home ministry, Kuki-Zo militant groups demanded a union territory similar to the administrative setup of Puducherry. Newslaundry learned that the groups, which signed a ceasefire agreement with the Manipur and central governments in 2008, believe a separate administration for their community is the only way to resolve the unrest between Meiteis and Kukis in Manipur. Since the violence began in Manipur in May, over 170 have died while thousands were displaced. Tribals have been demanding separate administration for five districts: Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Chandel, Tengnoupal and Pherzawl. In Delhi, four rounds of talks took place on July 16, August 17, August 31 and September 1. The talks were between the home ministry’s northeast advisor AK Mishra and the Kuki National Organisation and United People’s Front. A major fire broke out at a paying guest accommodation in Mukherjee Nagar, popular for its UPSC coaching centres, on Wednesday evening. It was the second such incident of a fire breakout in the area within a span of four months. The incident took place at Student Choice PG in Mukherjee Nagar’s N Block. The fire began on the ground floor of the four-storey building, and soon the flames rose up to the fourth floor. While there were at least 35 women in the building at the time of the incident, no casualties were reported. The PG accommodation did not have any emergency doors or staircase, said Delhi Fire Service officer MK Chattopadhyay. The women in the building were rescued by connecting a ladder between the building’s rooftop and another adjacent house. The official said the flames were so high that at least six students had to be admitted to a nearby hospital due to the suffocation caused by the smoke. देश का ‘यूपीएससी हब’ कहे जाने वाले मुखर्जी नगर में एक बार फिर छात्रों की सुरक्षा से समझौता हुआ है. 27 सितंबर को शाम करीब 7:00 बजे मुखर्जी नगर के एन ब्लॉक में स्थित स्टूडेंट चॉइस नामक पीजी में आग लग गई. चार मंजिला इमारत में बनी इस पीजी के भूतल (ग्राउंड फ्लोर) पर आग लगी थी लेकिन उसकी लपटें चौथी मंजिल तक जा रही थीं.  मौके पर मौजूद दिल्ली अग्निशमन सेवा के अधिकारी एम.के. चट्टोपाध्याय ने बताया कि चार मंजिला इमारत में कोई आपातकालीन द्वार नहीं था और ना ही कोई वैकल्पिक सीढ़ी थी. इसीलिए छात्राओं को छत पर सीढ़ी लगाकर बगल के मकान के जरिए सुरक्षित बाहर निकाला गया. उन्होंने कहा कि आग की लपटें ज्यादा थी इसलिए धुएं की वजह से करीब छह छात्रों की दम घुटने के कारण तबीयत खराब हो गई, जिन्हें नजदीकी अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है. वहीं, पीजी में रहने वाली छात्राओं का कहना है कि पीजी में क्षमता से अधिक छात्राओं को रखा गया है. एक कमरे में लकड़ी के कंपार्टमेंट बनाकर तीन छात्राओं को रखा गया है. जिसकी वजह से आग बढ़ती चली गई क्योंकि कमरे में सब कुछ लकड़ी का बना हुआ था. इसके अलावा पीजी के ग्राउंड फ्लोर पर एक पि

माइक्रोब्लॉगिंग प्लेटफॉर्म ‘X’ ने ‘द लिवर डॉक’ नाम के ट्विटर अकाउंट को दुनियाभर में बैन कर दिया है. इसके यूजरनेम ( @theliverdr) पर ‘अकाउंट विथहेल्ड’ का नोटिफिकेशन दिखाई पड़ रहा है. जिसके आगे लिखा है कि इसे कानूनी आदेश (लीगल डिमांड) के आधार पर बंद किया गया है.  जानकारी के बाद पता चला है कि अकाउंट को बेंगलुरू की एक स्थानीय अदालत के आदेश पर बंद किया गया है. इस बारे में अकाउंट के संचालक केरल के हेपेटोलॉजिस्ट और चिकित्सक-वैज्ञानिक ‘एबी फिलिप्स’ ने ट्वीट भी किया था. जिसे फिलहाल देखा नहीं जा सकता. “More than 75 percent of respondents use AI in at least one of the areas across the news value chain of news gathering, production and distribution,” as per a global survey of 105 newsrooms across 46 countries, published by the London School of Economics and Politics in collaboration with Google News Initiative.  The report said at least 89 of these big and small newsrooms have experimented with generative AI technologies, and most of them expect a “larger role for AI in their newsrooms”. The media companies have mostly experimented with genAI for writing code, image generation and authoring summaries, said the report.  These companies expect AI to influence “four main areas: fact-checking and disinformation analysis; content personalisation and automation; text summarisation and generation; and using chatbots to conduct preliminary interviews and gauge public sentiment on issues”.
